The essence of the Genesis Youth Group is chasing after God's heart; realizing that He created each of us, individually and with a purpose. We desire that our youth truly discover what it means to live life in the freedom that comes with being sons and daughters of The Almighty.
All of the staff and volunteers working with our youth are passionate about supporting and working together with you as parents, guardians and other extended family members.
What ages participate in the youth group?
- Our Jr. High kids are 7th and 8th graders
- Our Sr. High kids are 9th through 12th grades
What are our goals and hopes for the youth of Genesis?
- When students engage in and become a part of the youth group, they will grow in relationship with one another and with God.
- That the understanding of their faith will be deepened and become real to them and not just something that happens on Sundays.
What goes on at a typical youth group gathering during the week?
- We enter into group discussions, ask questions, battle through issues and discover what faith looks like.
- Regardless where that young person happens to be in their life, we focus on things like discipleship, developing student leadership and journeying together through the ups and downs of life with a focus on God's insane love for us.
What else are we doing with our youth?
In addition to the weekly group meetings our youth can participate in fun and wild outreach events, retreats, mission trips and random times of just hanging out all the while getting to know our irreplaceable and sometimes ridiculous volunteer staff.
