What is the 24/7 Center and why are we building it?
With the gift of $1.8 million, we believe that God has called us to build a 25,000 square foot, multiuse facility that will double as our worship space and a community center. We believe that God has given us much, and to be good stewards of a building, we feel it should be utilized 7 days a week.
Seeing this building primarily as a tool for sharing Christ with others and not as a typical church building will allow us to design programs and ministries that will incarnate Christ to our neighbors.
What will the 24/7 Center be used for?
We foresee aftercare programs, various sports and arts camps for children, computer classes, 12 step groups, marriage seminars, and other programming to meet the needs of the community. It
is our hope that we will have a facility that is conducive to renting at a low rate to community groups who would like to use our facility for their meetings. We also desire to connect with local artists by giving them a venue to show and perform their art through open mic nights, coffeehouse concerts or theatrical productions.
What is the timeline for this building?
We have completed all phases of the county and city permit process in order to begin actual construction. We are working with our Genesis building team and a local architectural firm to
create a center that fits both the needs of a community center and our worship space. God is still helping us to develop and define our strategic plan. We hope to break ground in the fall of 2009.
